1. लवथवती विक्राळा ब्रह्मांडी माळा।
   विषे कंठ काळा त्रिनेत्री ज्वाळा।
   लावण्यसुंदर मस्तकी बाळा।
   तेथुनिया जळ निर्मळ वाहे झुळझुळा॥

   Lavthavti vikrala brahmandi mala. Vishe kanth kala trinetri jvala. Lavanyasundar mastaki bala. Tethuniya jal nirmal vahe jhuljhula.

   Fearsome and swaying, wearing the universe as a garland, his throat dark with poison and flame in his third eye; on his head the lovely young Ganga, from where pure water flows, murmuring.

   वे भयंकर रूप में झूमते हैं, ब्रह्मांड की माला पहने हैं, विष से उनका कंठ काला है और तीसरे नेत्र में ज्वाला है। सिर पर सुंदर बाला गंगा हैं, जहाँ से निर्मल जल कल-कल बहता है।

2. जय देव जय देव जय श्रीशंकरा।
   आरती ओवाळू तुज कर्पूरगौरा॥

   Jai Dev jai Dev jai Shri Shankara. Aarti ovalu tuj Karpurgaura.

   Victory, Lord, victory, Lord, victory to Shri Shankar. I wave the aarti lamp before you, who are white as camphor.

   जय देव, जय देव, श्री शंकर की जय। हे कर्पूर-गौर, मैं आपकी आरती उतारता हूँ।

3. कर्पूरगौरा भोळा नयनी विशाळा।
   अर्धांगी पार्वती सुमनांच्या माळा।
   विभुतीचे उधळण शितिकंठ नीळा।
   ऐसा शंकर शोभे उमावेल्हाळा॥

   Karpurgaura bhola nayani vishala. Ardhangi Parvati sumananchya mala. Vibhutiche udhalan shitikanth nila. Aisa Shankar shobhe Umavelhala.

   White as camphor, innocent, with large eyes; Parvati is half his body, and he wears garlands of flowers. Smeared with sacred ash, his throat blue: so shines Shankar, devoted to Uma.

   कर्पूर जैसे गोरे, भोले और बड़े नेत्रों वाले; पार्वती उनकी अर्धांगिनी हैं और वे फूलों की मालाएँ पहने हैं। भस्म से लिपटे, नीले कंठ वाले, उमा पर प्रेम लुटाने वाले शंकर ऐसे शोभा देते हैं।

4. देवी दैत्यी सागरमंथन पै केले।
   त्यामाजी अवचित हळाहळ जे उठिले।
   ते त्वा असुरपणे प्राशन केले।
   नीलकंठ नाम प्रसिद्ध झाले॥

   Devi daityi sagarmanthan pai kele. Tyamaji avachit halahal je uthile. Te tva asurpane prashan kele. Neelkanth nam prasiddh jhale.

   The gods and demons churned the ocean, and from it suddenly rose the deadly halahala poison. You boldly drank it down, and became famous by the name Neelkantha, the blue-throated.

   देवताओं और दैत्यों ने समुद्र-मंथन किया, और उसमें से अचानक हलाहल विष निकला। आपने उसे निडर होकर पी लिया, और नीलकंठ नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुए।

5. व्याघ्रांबर फणिवरधर सुंदर मदनारी।
   पंचानन मनमोहन मुनिजनसुखकारी।
   शतकोटीचे बीज वाचे उच्चारी।
   रघुकुळटिळक रामदासा अंतरी॥

   Vyaghrambar phanivardhar sundar Madanari. Panchanan manmohan munijansukhkari. Shatkotiche bij vache uchchari. Raghukultilak Ramdasa antari.

   Clad in tiger skin, wearing the king of serpents, handsome foe of Kama; five-faced, enchanting, bringer of joy to sages. With his voice he chants the seed of the billion-verse Ramayana, the name of Ram, jewel of the Raghu clan, who dwells in Ramdas’s heart.

   बाघंबर पहने, नागराज को धारण करने वाले, सुंदर, कामदेव के शत्रु; पाँच मुखों वाले, मन मोहने वाले, मुनियों को सुख देने वाले शिव। वे सौ करोड़ श्लोकों वाली रामायण के बीज, राम नाम, को वाणी से जपते हैं; रघुकुल-तिलक राम, जो रामदास के हृदय में बसते हैं।
