Tvadvapurnavakalayakomalam premadohanamasheshamohanam, brahmatattvaparachinmudatmakam vikshya sammumuhuranvaham striyah.
Seeing your body, soft as fresh kalaya flowers, drawing out love and enchanting all, made of the supreme bliss and awareness of Brahman, the women fell under its spell day after day.

Manmathonmathitamanasah kramattvadvilokanaratastatastatah, gopikastava na sehire hare kananopagatimapyaharmukhe.
Their hearts stirred by love, longing more and more to gaze at you, the gopis could not bear even your going to the forest in the morning, Hari.
Nirgate bhavati dattadrishtayastvadgatena manasa mrigekshanah, venunadamupakarnya duratastvadvilasakathayabhiremire.
When you had gone, the doe-eyed women, their eyes and minds following you, heard your flute from afar and found joy in talking of your plays.
Kananantamitavan bhavanapi snigdhapadapatale manorame, vyatyayakalitapadamasthitah pratyapurayata venunalikam.
You, reaching the forest’s edge, stood under a lovely shady tree with your feet crossed and filled your flute with music.
Marabanadhutakhecharikulam nirvikarapashupakshimandalam, dravanam cha drishadamapi prabho tavakam vyajani venukujitam.
Lord, the song of your flute set the heavenly maidens trembling with love, held the animals and birds spellbound, and melted even stones.
Venurandhrataralangulidalam talasanchalitapadapallavam, tat sthitam tava parokshamapyaho samvichintya mumuhurvrajanganah.
Your fingers fluttering over the flute’s holes, your tender feet tapping the rhythm: just picturing you so, though unseen, the women of Vraja were enraptured.
Nirvishankabhavadangadarshinih khecharih khagamrigan pashunapi, tvatpadapranayi kananam cha tah dhanyadhanyamiti nanvamanayan.
They called them blessed, truly blessed: the heavenly maidens who could gaze at you freely, the birds, deer and cattle, and the forest that held your feet so dear.
Apibeyamadharamritam kada venubhuktarasasheshamekada, durato bata kritam durashayetyakula muhurimah samamuhan.
“When will I drink the nectar of his lips, what the flute leaves behind? Alas, this longing keeps me far away.” So they grieved and fainted again and again.
Pratyaham cha punaritthamanganashchittayonijanitadanugrahat, baddharagavivashastvayi prabho nityamapuriha krityamudhatam.
And so every day, Lord, the women, helplessly bound in love for you by the grace of love itself, forgot all their daily tasks.

Ragastavajjayate hi svabhavanmokshopayo yatnatah syanna va syat, tasam tvekam tadvayam labdhamasidbhagyam bhagyam pahi mam marutesha.
Love arises by nature, while a path to liberation may or may not come even with effort. For them the two became one. What fortune! Lord of Guruvayur, protect me.
