Snigdham mugdham satatamapi tam lalayan satyabhamam yato bhuyah saha khalu taya yajnasenivivaham, parthaprityai punarapi managasthito hastipuryam shakraprastham puramapi vibho samvidhayagatobhuh.

Ever cherishing the gentle, lovely Satyabhama, you went with her again to the wedding of Draupadi; to please Arjuna you stayed a while in Hastinapura, and then, O Lord, after founding the city of Indraprastha, you came back.

Bhadram bhadram bhavadavarajam kauravenarthyamanam tvadvacha tamahrita kuhanamaskari shakrasunuh, tatra kruddham balamanunayan pratyagastena sardham shakraprastham priyasakhamude satyabhamasahayah.

Your gentle sister Subhadra, sought by the Kaurava Duryodhana, was carried off at your word by Arjuna, Indra’s son, disguised as an ascetic. Calming the angry Balarama, you went back with Arjuna to Indraprastha with Satyabhama, to please your dear friend.

Tatra kridannapi cha yamunakuladrishtam grihitva tam kalindim nagaramagamah khandavaprinitagnih, bhratritrastam pranayavivasham deva paitrishvaseyim rajnam madhye sapadi jahrishe mitravindamavantim.

While there, you took Kalindi, whom you had seen on the bank of the Yamuna, and returned to your city, having pleased Agni with the Khandava forest. Then, O Lord, among the assembled kings you swiftly carried off your cousin Mitravinda of Avanti, who loved you but feared her brothers.

Satyam gatva punarudavaho nagnajinnandanam tam baddhva saptapi cha vrishavaransaptamurtirnimeshat, bhadram nama pradaduratha te deva santardanadyastatsodaryam varada bhavatah sapi paitrishvaseyi.

Then you married Satya, daughter of Nagnajit, after taking seven forms and binding seven mighty bulls in an instant. Then Santardana and his brothers gave you their sister Bhadra, also your cousin, O giver of boons.

Parthadyairapyakritalavanam toyamatrabhilakshyam laksham chhitva shapharamavritha lakshanam madrakanyam, ashtavevam tava samabhavan vallabhastatra madhye shushrotha tvam surapatigira bhaumadushcheshtitani.

Piercing the fish target, seen only in the water, that even Arjuna and others could not hit, you won Lakshmana, the princess of Madra. Thus you had eight wives. Meanwhile you heard from Indra of the misdeeds of Narakasura.

Smritayatam pakshipravaramadhirudhastvamagamo vahannanke bhamamupavanamivaratibhavanam, vibhindan durgani trutitapritanashonitarasaih puram tavatpragjyotishamakuruthashshonitapuram.

Riding Garuda, who came the moment you thought of him, with Bhama on your lap, you went to the enemy’s city as if to a pleasure garden; breaking through its forts, you turned Pragjyotisha into a city of blood with the blood of its slaughtered armies.

Murastvam panchasyo jaladhivanamadhyadudapatat sa chakre chakrena pradalitashira mankshu bhavata, chaturdantairdantavalapatibhirindhanasamaram rathankenachchhitva narakamakarostirnanarakam.

Five-headed Mura sprang at you from the midst of the waters, and you quickly split his heads with your discus. Then you cut down with the discus Narakasura, who fought fiercely with four-tusked elephants, and set him free from hell.

Stuto bhumya rajyam sapadi bhagadattesya tanaye gajanchaikam dattva prajighayitha nagannijapurim, khalenabaddhanam svagatamanasam shodasha punah sahasrani strinamapi cha dhanarashim cha vipulam.

Praised by the Earth goddess, you at once gave the kingdom to his son Bhagadatta along with one elephant, and sent to your city the other elephants, the sixteen thousand women held captive by the wicked one, whose hearts were set on you, and vast wealth.

Bhaumapahritakundalam tadaditerdatum prayato divam shakradyairmahitah samam dayitaya dyustrishu dattahriya, hritva kalpatarum rushabhipatitam jitvendramabhyagamastattu shrimadadosha idrisha iti vyakhyatumevakrithah.

You went to heaven with your beloved to return Aditi’s earrings stolen by Narakasura, and were honoured by Indra and others, though the heavenly women slighted her. You took the wish-granting tree, defeated Indra when he attacked in anger, and came back; this you did only to show what the fault of pride in wealth is like.

Kalpadrum satyabhamabhavanabhuvi srijandvyashtasahasrayoshah svikritya pratyagaram vihitabahuvapurlalayankelibhedaih, ashcharyannaradalokitavividhagatistatra tatrapi gehe bhuyah sarvasu kurvan dasha dasha tanayan pahi vatalayesha.

Planting the wish-granting tree in Satyabhama’s palace grounds, you accepted the sixteen thousand women, took many forms to delight each in her own home with varied play, and to Narada’s wonder were seen doing different things in house after house, fathering ten sons with each. O Lord of Guruvayur, protect me.
