नवग्रहस्तोत्रम्

जपाकुसुमसंकाशं काश्यपेयं महाद्युतिम्।
तमोऽरिं सर्वपापघ्नं प्रणतोऽस्मि दिवाकरम्॥Japakusumasankasham kashyapeyam mahadyutim, tamorim sarvapapaghnam pranatosmi divakaram.
I bow to the Sun, red as the hibiscus flower, son of Kashyapa, of great brilliance, enemy of darkness and destroyer of all sins.
मैं जपा (गुड़हल) के फूल जैसे लाल, कश्यप के पुत्र, महान तेज वाले, अंधकार के शत्रु और सब पापों का नाश करने वाले सूर्यदेव को प्रणाम करता हूँ।

दधिशङ्खतुषाराभं क्षीरोदार्णवसंभवम्।
नमामि शशिनं सोमं शम्भोर्मुकुटभूषणम्॥Dadhishankhatusharabham kshirodarnavasambhavam, namami shashinam somam shambhormukutabhushanam.
I bow to the Moon, Soma, white as curd, conch and snow, born from the Ocean of Milk, the jewel on Shiva’s crown.
मैं दही, शंख और बर्फ जैसे उजले, क्षीरसागर से जन्मे, शिवजी के मुकुट के आभूषण चंद्रदेव सोम को नमन करता हूँ।

धरणीगर्भसंभूतं विद्युत्कान्तिसमप्रभम्।
कुमारं शक्तिहस्तं तं मङ्गलं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥Dharanigarbhasambhutam vidyutkantisamaprabham, kumaram shaktihastam tam mangalam pranamamyaham.
I bow to Mangala (Mars), born from the womb of the Earth, bright as lightning, the youth who holds a spear.
मैं पृथ्वी के गर्भ से जन्मे, बिजली जैसी चमक वाले, हाथ में शक्ति लिए कुमार मंगल को प्रणाम करता हूँ।

प्रियङ्गुकलिकाश्यामं रूपेणाप्रतिमं बुधम्।
सौम्यं सौम्यगुणोपेतं तं बुधं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥Priyangukalikashyamam rupenapratimam budham, saumyam saumyagunopetam tam budham pranamamyaham.
I bow to Budha (Mercury), dark as a priyangu bud, matchless in beauty, gentle and full of gentle virtues.
मैं प्रियंगु की कली जैसे साँवले, रूप में अनुपम, सौम्य और सौम्य गुणों वाले बुध को प्रणाम करता हूँ।

देवानां च ऋषीणां च गुरुं काञ्चनसंनिभम्।
बुद्धिभूतं त्रिलोकेशं तं नमामि बृहस्पतिम्॥Devanam cha rishinam cha gurum kanchanasannibham, buddhibhutam trilokesham tam namami brihaspatim.
I bow to Brihaspati (Jupiter), teacher of the gods and sages, golden in colour, wisdom itself, lord of the three worlds.
मैं देवताओं और ऋषियों के गुरु, सोने जैसी आभा वाले, बुद्धि के स्वरूप, तीनों लोकों के स्वामी बृहस्पति को नमन करता हूँ।

हिमकुन्दमृणालाभं दैत्यानां परमं गुरुम्।
सर्वशास्त्रप्रवक्तारं भार्गवं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥Himakundamrinalabham daityanam paramam gurum, sarvashastrapravaktaram bhargavam pranamamyaham.
I bow to Shukra (Venus), son of Bhrigu, white as snow, jasmine and lotus stalk, supreme teacher of the demons and expounder of all the scriptures.
मैं बर्फ, कुंद के फूल और कमलनाल जैसे उजले, दैत्यों के परम गुरु, सब शास्त्रों के ज्ञाता भृगुपुत्र शुक्र को प्रणाम करता हूँ।

नीलांजनसमाभासं रविपुत्रं यमाग्रजम्।
छायामार्तण्डसंभूतं तं नमामि शनैश्चरम्॥Nilanjanasamabhasam raviputram yamagrajam, chhayamartandasambhutam tam namami shanaishcharam.
I bow to Shani (Saturn), the slow-moving one, dark as blue collyrium, son of the Sun and elder brother of Yama, born of Chhaya and the Sun.
मैं नीले काजल जैसी आभा वाले, सूर्य के पुत्र, यम के बड़े भाई, छाया और सूर्य से जन्मे धीमी चाल वाले शनिदेव को नमन करता हूँ।

अर्धकायं महावीर्यं चन्द्रादित्यविमर्दनम्।
सिंहिकागर्भसंभूतं तं राहुं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥Ardhakayam mahaviryam chandradityavimardanam, simhikagarbhasambhutam tam rahum pranamamyaham.
I bow to Rahu, who has only half a body, mighty, who seizes the Sun and Moon, born from the womb of Simhika.
मैं आधे शरीर वाले, महाबली, सूर्य और चंद्रमा को ग्रसने वाले, सिंहिका के गर्भ से जन्मे राहु को प्रणाम करता हूँ।

पलाशपुष्पसंकाशं तारकाग्रहमस्तकम्।
रौद्रं रौद्रात्मकं घोरं तं केतुं प्रणमाम्यहम्॥Palashapushpasankasham tarakagrahamastakam, raudram raudratmakam ghoram tam ketum pranamamyaham.
I bow to Ketu, red as the palasha flower, head of the stars and planets, fierce and terrible by nature.
मैं पलाश के फूल जैसे लाल, तारों और ग्रहों के मस्तक, उग्र, रौद्र स्वभाव वाले, भयंकर केतु को प्रणाम करता हूँ।

इति व्यासमुखोद्गीतं यः पठेत्सुसमाहितः।
दिवा वा यदि वा रात्रौ विघ्नशान्तिर्भविष्यति॥Iti vyasamukhodgitam yah pathetsusamahitah, diva va yadi va ratrau vighnashantirbhavishyati.
Whoever recites this hymn, sung by Vyasa, with a focused mind, by day or by night, will find all obstacles calmed.
व्यास जी के मुख से गाए गए इस स्तोत्र को जो एकाग्र मन से दिन में या रात में पढ़ता है, उसके विघ्न शांत हो जाते हैं।

नरनारीनृपाणां च भवेद्दुःस्वप्ननाशनम्।
ऐश्वर्यमतुलं तेषामारोग्यं पुष्टिवर्धनम्॥Naranarinripanam cha bhavedduhsvapnanashanam, aishvaryamatulam teshamarogyam pushtivardhanam.
For men, women and kings alike, it destroys bad dreams and brings matchless prosperity, health and growing strength.
यह पुरुषों, स्त्रियों और राजाओं के बुरे सपनों का नाश करता है, और उन्हें अतुलनीय ऐश्वर्य, आरोग्य और बढ़ती पुष्टि देता है।

ग्रहनक्षत्रजाः पीडास्तस्कराग्निसमुद्भवाः।
ताः सर्वाः प्रशमं यान्ति व्यासो ब्रूते न संशयः॥Grahanakshatrajah pidastaskaragnisamudbhavah, tah sarvah prashamam yanti vyaso brute na samshayah.
Troubles caused by the planets and stars, by thieves and by fire, all are calmed. So says Vyasa; there is no doubt.
ग्रहों और नक्षत्रों से होने वाले कष्ट, और चोर तथा आग से होने वाली पीड़ाएँ, सब शांत हो जाती हैं। व्यास जी कहते हैं, इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं।
