बन्दउ माँ शाकम्भरी, चरण गुरु का धरकर ध्यान।
शाकम्भरी माँ चालीसा का, करे प्रख्यान॥Bandau Maa Shakambhari, charan guru ka dharkar dhyan. Shakambhari Maa chalisa ka, kare prakhyan.
Meditating on my guru’s feet, I bow to Mother Shakambhari and recite the Chalisa of Mother Shakambhari.
गुरु के चरणों का ध्यान करके मैं माँ शाकम्भरी को प्रणाम करता हूँ और माँ शाकम्भरी की चालीसा का बखान करता हूँ।

आनन्दमयी जगदम्बिका, अनन्त रूप भण्डार।
माँ शाकम्भरी की कृपा, बनी रहे हर बार॥Anandmayi Jagdambika, anant roop bhandar. Maa Shakambhari ki kripa, bani rahe har baar.
Blissful Mother of the world, treasury of endless forms: may Mother Shakambhari’s grace stay with us always.
आनंदमयी जगदम्बा अनंत रूपों का भंडार हैं। माँ शाकम्भरी की कृपा सदा बनी रहे।

शाकम्भरी माँ अति सुखकारी।
पूर्ण ब्रह्म सदा दुःख हारी॥Shakambhari Maa ati sukhkari. Poorn Brahm sada dukh hari.
Mother Shakambhari gives great joy. She is the complete Brahman, who always takes away sorrow.
माँ शाकम्भरी अत्यंत सुख देने वाली हैं। वे पूर्ण ब्रह्म हैं और सदा दुःख हरती हैं।

कारण करण जगत की दाता।
आनन्द चेतन विश्व विधाता॥Karan karan jagat ki data. Anand chetan vishva vidhata.
You are the cause and the doer, the provider of the world; you are bliss and consciousness, the maker of the universe.
आप जगत का कारण और कर्ता हैं, सबको देने वाली हैं। आप आनंद और चेतना स्वरूप, विश्व की रचयिता हैं।

अमर जोत है मात तुम्हारी।
तुम ही सदा भगतन हितकारी॥Amar jot hai maat tumhari. Tum hi sada bhagtan hitkari.
Mother, your flame is eternal. You alone always look after your devotees’ good.
हे माता, आपकी ज्योति अमर है। आप ही सदा भक्तों का हित करती हैं।

महिमा अमित अथाह अपर्णा।
ब्रह्म हरि हर मात अपर्णा॥Mahima amit athah Aparna. Brahm Hari Har maat Aparna.
Aparna, your glory is boundless and fathomless. You are the mother of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
हे अपर्णा, आपकी महिमा अपार और अथाह है। आप ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और शिव की भी माता हैं।

ज्ञान राशि हो दीन दयाली।
शरणागत घर भरती खुशहाली॥Gyan rashi ho deen dayali. Sharnagat ghar bharti khushhali.
You are a treasure of wisdom, kind to the helpless. You fill the homes of those who seek your refuge with happiness.
आप ज्ञान का भंडार और दीनों पर दया करने वाली हैं। शरण में आए लोगों के घर खुशहाली से भर देती हैं।

नारायणी तुम ब्रह्म प्रकाशी।
जल थल नभ हो अविनाशी॥Narayani tum Brahm prakashi. Jal thal nabh ho avinashi.
Narayani, you shine as Brahman itself. Imperishable, you fill water, land and sky.
हे नारायणी, आप ब्रह्म का प्रकाश हैं। जल, थल और आकाश में व्याप्त आप अविनाशी हैं।

कमल कान्तिमय शान्ति अनूपा।
जोत मन मर्यादा जोत स्वरूपा॥Kamal kantimay shanti anupa. Jot man maryada jot swaroopa.
You glow like a lotus and your peace is beyond compare; you are light itself.
आपकी कांति कमल जैसी है और शांति अनुपम है; आप ज्योति स्वरूपा हैं।

जब जब भक्तों ने है ध्याई।
जोत अपनी प्रकट हो आई॥Jab jab bhakton ne hai dhyai. Jot apni prakat ho aai.
Whenever devotees have meditated on you, your flame has appeared before them.
जब-जब भक्तों ने आपका ध्यान किया, आपकी ज्योति प्रकट हो गई।

प्यारी बहन के संग विराजे।
मात शताक्षि संग ही साजे॥Pyari bahan ke sang viraje. Maat Shatakshi sang hi saje.
You sit with your beloved sister: Mother Shatakshi, the hundred-eyed, shines beside you.
आप अपनी प्यारी बहन के साथ विराजती हैं; सौ नेत्रों वाली माता शताक्षी आपके संग सुशोभित हैं।

भीम भयंकर रूप कराली।
तीसरी बहन की जोत निराली॥Bheem bhayankar roop karali. Teesri bahan ki jot nirali.
Bhima, of terrible and fearsome form, is your third sister, and her flame is unlike any other.
भयंकर और विकराल रूप वाली भीमा आपकी तीसरी बहन हैं, जिनकी ज्योति निराली है।

चौथी बहन भ्रामरी तेरी।
अद्भुत चंचल चित्त चितेरी॥Chauthi bahan Bhramari teri. Adbhut chanchal chitt chiteri.
Bhramari is your fourth sister, wondrous and lively, who captivates the mind.
भ्रामरी आपकी चौथी बहन हैं, जो अद्भुत, चंचल और मन को मोहने वाली हैं।

सम्मुख भैरव वीर खड़ा है।
दानव दल से खूब लड़ा है॥Sammukh Bhairav veer khada hai. Danav dal se khoob lada hai.
The hero Bhairav stands before you; he has fought hard against the demon armies.
आपके सामने वीर भैरव खड़े हैं, जो दानवों की सेना से खूब लड़े हैं।

शिव शंकर प्रभु भोले भण्डारी।
सदा रहे सन्तन हितकारी॥Shiv Shankar Prabhu Bhole Bhandari. Sada rahe santan hitkari.
Lord Shiva Shankar, the simple-hearted giver with an endless store, is here too, always doing good to the saints.
भोले भंडारी प्रभु शिव शंकर भी यहाँ हैं, जो सदा संतों का हित करते हैं।

हनुमत माता लौकड़ा तेरा।
सदा शाकम्भरी माँ का चेरा॥Hanumat mata laukda tera. Sada Shakambhari Maa ka chera.
Mother, Hanuman is your langur guardian, forever the servant of Mother Shakambhari.
हे माता, हनुमान जी आपके लौकड़ा (लंगूर रक्षक) हैं और सदा माँ शाकम्भरी के सेवक हैं।

हाथ ध्वजा हनुमान विराजे।
युद्ध भूमि में माँ संग साजे॥Haath dhvaja Hanuman viraje. Yuddh bhoomi mein Maa sang saje.
Hanuman stands holding a banner and shines beside the Mother on the battlefield.
हाथ में ध्वजा लिए हनुमान जी विराजते हैं और युद्धभूमि में माँ के साथ शोभा पाते हैं।

काल रात्रि धारे कराली।
बहिन मात की अति विकराली॥Kaal Ratri dhare karali. Bahin maat ki ati vikrali.
Kalaratri, terrifying in form, is the Mother’s most fearsome sister.
विकराल रूप धारण करने वाली कालरात्रि माता की अत्यंत भयानक बहन हैं।

दश विद्या नव दुर्गा आदि।
ध्याते तुम्हें परमार्थ वादि॥Dash Vidya Nav Durga aadi. Dhyate tumhen paramarth vaadi.
The ten Mahavidyas, the nine Durgas and all who seek the highest truth meditate on you.
दस महाविद्याएँ, नौ दुर्गाएँ और परमार्थ के साधक सब आपका ध्यान करते हैं।

अष्ट सिद्धि गणपति जी दाता।
बाल रूप शरणागत माता॥Asht siddhi Ganpati ji data. Baal roop sharnagat mata.
Ganpati, giver of the eight powers, has come to you in child form for shelter, Mother.
हे माता, आठों सिद्धियाँ देने वाले गणपति जी बाल रूप में आपकी शरण में हैं।

माँ भण्डारे के रखवारी।
प्रथम पूजने के अधिकारी॥Maa bhandare ke rakhvari. Pratham poojne ke adhikari.
He guards the Mother’s storehouse and has the right to be worshipped first.
वे माँ के भंडार के रखवाले हैं और सबसे पहले पूजे जाने के अधिकारी हैं।

जग की एक भ्रमण की कारण।
शिव शक्ति हो दुष्ट विदारण॥Jag ki ek bhraman ki karan. Shiv Shakti ho dusht vidaran.
You alone keep the world turning; as Shiva’s power you tear the wicked apart.
आप ही जगत के चक्र को चलाने वाली हैं; शिव की शक्ति बनकर आप दुष्टों का संहार करती हैं।

भूरा देव लौकड़ा दूजा।
जिसकी होती पहली पूजा॥Bhura Dev laukda dooja. Jiski hoti pahli pooja.
Bhura Dev is your second langur guardian, and he receives the first worship.
भूरा देव आपके दूसरे लौकड़ा (रक्षक) हैं, जिनकी पहली पूजा होती है।

बली बजरंगी तेरा चेरा।
चले संग यश गाता तेरा॥Bali Bajrangi tera chera. Chale sang yash gata tera.
Mighty Bajrangi is your servant; he walks with you singing your glory.
बलशाली बजरंगी आपके सेवक हैं, जो आपका यश गाते हुए साथ चलते हैं।

पाँच कोस की खोल तुम्हारी।
तेरी लीला अति विस्तारी॥Paanch kos ki khol tumhari. Teri leela ati vistari.
The valley five kos wide is yours, and your divine play reaches far and wide.
पाँच कोस की घाटी आपकी है और आपकी लीला बहुत विस्तृत है।

रक्त दन्तिका तुम्हीं बनी हो।
रक्त पान कर असुर हनी हो॥Rakt Dantika tumhin bani ho. Rakt paan kar asur hani ho.
You became Raktadantika, the red-toothed one, and slew the demons by drinking their blood.
आप ही रक्तदंतिका बनीं और रक्त पीकर असुरों का वध किया।

रक्तबीज का नाश किया था।
छिन्न मस्तिका रूप लिया था॥Raktbeej ka naash kiya tha. Chhinnamastika roop liya tha.
You destroyed Raktabija and took the form of Chhinnamasta, the self-beheaded goddess.
आपने रक्तबीज का नाश किया और छिन्नमस्तिका का रूप धारण किया।

सिद्ध योगिनी सहस्या राजे।
सात कुण्ड में आप विराजे॥Siddh yogini sahasya raje. Saat kund mein aap viraje.
Perfected yoginis attend you in their thousands, and you dwell in the seven sacred pools.
हज़ारों सिद्ध योगिनियाँ आपके साथ शोभित हैं और आप सात कुंडों में विराजती हैं।

रूप मराल का तुमने धारा।
भोजन दे दे जन जन तारा॥Roop maral ka tumne dhara. Bhojan de de jan jan tara.
You took the form of a swan, and saved people everywhere by feeding them.
आपने हंस का रूप धारण किया और भोजन दे-देकर जन-जन को तारा।

शोक पात से मुनि जन तारे।
शोक पात जन दुःख निवारे॥Shok paat se muni jan tare. Shok paat jan dukh nivare.
With leaves that end sorrow you saved the sages, and with those leaves you end people’s grief.
शोक हरने वाले पत्तों से आपने मुनियों को तारा; उन्हीं पत्तों से आप लोगों के दुःख दूर करती हैं।

भद्र काली कमलेश्वर आई।
कान्त शिवा भगतन सुखदाई॥Bhadra Kali Kamleshwar aai. Kant Shiva bhagtan sukhdai.
Bhadrakali and Kamleshwar came too; Kanta says the Mother, Shiva’s consort, brings joy to devotees.
भद्रकाली और कमलेश्वर भी आए; कान्त कहते हैं, शिवा माँ भक्तों को सुख देने वाली हैं।

भोग भण्डारा हलवा पूरी।
ध्वजा नारियल तिलक सिंदूरी॥Bhog bhandara halwa poori. Dhvaja nariyal tilak sindoori.
A feast is offered to you, with halwa and puri, a banner, a coconut and a vermilion mark.
आपको भंडारे का भोग, हलवा-पूरी, ध्वजा, नारियल और सिंदूर का तिलक चढ़ाया जाता है।

लाल चुनरी लगती प्यारी।
ये ही भेंट ले दुःख निवारी॥Laal chunri lagti pyari. Ye hi bhent le dukh nivari.
A red veil pleases you; accepting these gifts, you take away sorrow.
लाल चुनरी आपको प्यारी लगती है; यही भेंट लेकर आप दुःख दूर करती हैं।

अंधे को तुम नयन दिखाती।
कोढ़ी काया सफल बनाती॥Andhe ko tum nayan dikhati. Kodhi kaya safal banati.
You give sight to the blind and make a leper’s body whole.
आप अंधे को आँखें देती हैं और कोढ़ी की काया को निरोग बनाती हैं।

बाँझन के घर बाल खिलाती।
निर्धन को धन खूब दिलाती॥Baanjhan ke ghar baal khilati. Nirdhan ko dhan khoob dilati.
You bring children to play in a childless home and give the poor plenty of wealth.
आप निःसंतान के घर बच्चे खिलाती हैं और निर्धन को खूब धन दिलाती हैं।

सुख दे दे भगत को तारे।
साधु सज्जन काज संवारे॥Sukh de de bhagat ko taare. Sadhu sajjan kaaj sanvare.
Giving joy again and again, you save your devotees and set right the work of the good and holy.
सुख दे-देकर आप भक्तों को तारती हैं और साधु-सज्जनों के काम सँवारती हैं।

भूमण्डल से जोत प्रकाशी।
शाकम्भरी माँ दुःख की नाशी॥Bhoomandal se jot prakashi. Shakambhari Maa dukh ki nashi.
Your flame shines across the whole earth; Mother Shakambhari destroys sorrow.
आपकी ज्योति पूरे भूमंडल में प्रकाशित है; माँ शाकम्भरी दुःख का नाश करती हैं।

मधुर मधुर मुस्कान तुम्हारी।
जन्म जन्म पहचान हमारी॥Madhur madhur muskan tumhari. Janm janm pahchan hamari.
Your smile is so sweet; we have known you birth after birth.
आपकी मुस्कान बहुत मधुर है; जन्म-जन्म से हमारी आपसे पहचान है।

चरण कमल तेरे बलिहारी।
जै जै जै जग जननी तुम्हारी॥Charan kamal tere balihari. Jai jai jai jag janani tumhari.
I offer myself to your lotus feet. Victory, victory, victory to you, Mother of the world.
मैं आपके चरण-कमलों पर बलिहारी जाता हूँ। हे जगजननी, आपकी जय हो, जय हो, जय हो।

कान्ता चालीसा अति सुखकारी।
संकट दुःख दुविधा सब टारी॥Kanta chalisa ati sukhkari. Sankat dukh duvidha sab taari.
This Chalisa by Kanta brings great joy and wards off every trouble, sorrow and doubt.
कान्ता की रची यह चालीसा बहुत सुख देने वाली है और सब संकट, दुःख और दुविधा टाल देती है।

जो कोई जन चालीसा गावे।
मात कृपा अति सुख पावे॥Jo koi jan chalisa gaave. Maat kripa ati sukh paave.
Whoever sings this Chalisa receives the Mother’s grace and great happiness.
जो कोई यह चालीसा गाता है, वह माता की कृपा से बहुत सुख पाता है।

कान्ता प्रसाद जगाधरी वासी।
भाव शाकम्भरी तत्त्व प्रकाशी॥Kanta Prasad Jagadhari vasi. Bhav Shakambhari tattva prakashi.
Kanta Prasad of Jagadhri has, with devotion, brought to light the essence of Shakambhari.
जगाधरी निवासी कान्ता प्रसाद ने भाव से शाकम्भरी तत्त्व को प्रकाशित किया है।

बार बार कहें कर जोरी।
विनती सुन शाकम्भरी मोरी॥Baar baar kahen kar jori. Vinti sun Shakambhari mori.
Again and again I say with folded hands: Shakambhari, hear my prayer.
बार-बार हाथ जोड़कर कहता हूँ: हे शाकम्भरी, मेरी विनती सुनो।

मैं सेवक हूँ दास तुम्हारा।
जननी करना भव निस्तारा॥Main sevak hoon daas tumhara. Janani karna bhav nistara.
I am your servant and devotee. Mother, carry me across the ocean of worldly life.
मैं आपका सेवक और दास हूँ। हे जननी, मुझे भवसागर से पार करना।

यह सौ बार पाठ करे कोई।
मातु कृपा अधिकारी सोई॥Yah sau baar paath kare koi. Matu kripa adhikari soi.
Whoever recites this a hundred times becomes worthy of the Mother’s grace.
जो इसका सौ बार पाठ करता है, वही माता की कृपा का अधिकारी बनता है।

संकट कष्ट को मात निवारे।
शोक मोह शत्रुन संहारे॥Sankat kasht ko maat nivare. Shok moh shatrun sanhare.
The Mother removes troubles and pain, and destroys grief, delusion and enemies.
माता संकट और कष्ट दूर करती हैं, और शोक, मोह व शत्रुओं का नाश करती हैं।

निर्धन धन सुख सम्पत्ति पावे।
श्रद्धा भक्ति से चालीसा गावे॥Nirdhan dhan sukh sampatti paave. Shraddha bhakti se chalisa gaave.
Even the poor gain wealth, happiness and prosperity when they sing this Chalisa with faith and devotion.
जो श्रद्धा और भक्ति से चालीसा गाता है, वह निर्धन भी धन, सुख और संपत्ति पाता है।

नौ रात्रों तक दीप जगावे।
सपरिवार मगन हो गावे॥Nau raatron tak deep jagaave. Saparivar magan ho gaave.
Light a lamp for the nine nights and sing it joyfully with the whole family.
नौ रातों तक दीप जलाएँ और पूरे परिवार के साथ मगन होकर गाएँ।

प्रेम से पाठ करे मन लाई।
कान्त शाकम्भरी अति सुखदाई॥Prem se paath kare man laai. Kant Shakambhari ati sukhdai.
Recite it with love and a focused mind; Kanta says Shakambhari gives great joy.
प्रेम से और मन लगाकर पाठ करें; कान्त कहते हैं, शाकम्भरी अत्यंत सुख देने वाली हैं।

दुर्गासुर संहारणि, करणि जग के काज।
शाकम्भरी जननि शिवे, रखना मेरी लाज॥Durgasur sanharani, karani jag ke kaaj. Shakambhari janani Shive, rakhna meri laaj.
Slayer of the demon Durgama, who carries out the work of the world: Mother Shakambhari, auspicious one, protect my honour.
दुर्गमासुर का संहार करने वाली और जगत के काम करने वाली, हे कल्याणी माँ शाकम्भरी, मेरी लाज रखना।

युग युग तक व्रत तेरा, करे भक्त उद्धार।
वो ही तेरा लाड़ला, आवे तेरे द्वार॥Yug yug tak vrat tera, kare bhakt uddhar. Vo hi tera laadla, aave tere dvaar.
Your vow, kept age after age, lifts up the devotee; whoever comes to your door becomes your beloved child.
युगों-युगों तक आपका व्रत भक्तों का उद्धार करता है; जो आपके द्वार आता है, वही आपका लाड़ला है।
