1. బంటు రీతి కొలువీయవయ్య రామ

   Bantu reeti koluviyavayya Rama

   Grant me service as your soldier, Rama.

   हे राम, मुझे अपने सिपाही की तरह सेवा का अवसर दो।

2. తుంట వింటి వాని మొదలైన మదాదుల గొట్టి నేల గూల జేయు నిజ

   Tunta vinti vani modalaina madadula gotti nela goola jeyu nija

   Make me a true soldier who strikes down Kama, the archer with the sugarcane bow, along with pride and the rest, and brings them to the ground.

   मुझे ऐसा सच्चा सिपाही बनाओ, जो गन्ने का धनुष रखने वाले कामदेव और मद आदि को मारकर धरती पर गिरा दे।

3. రోమాంచమను ఘన కంచుకము, రామ భక్తుడను ముద్ర బిళ్ళయు, రామ నామమను వర ఖడ్గమివి, రాజిల్లునయ్య త్యాగరాజునికే

   Romanchamanu ghana kanchukamu, Rama bhaktudanu mudra billayu, Rama namamanu vara khadgamivi, rajillunayya Tyagarajunike

   The thrill of devotion as my strong armour, the badge that says “Rama’s devotee”, and Rama’s name as my fine sword: these will shine on Tyagaraja.

   रोमांच रूपी मज़बूत कवच, ‘रामभक्त’ का बिल्ला और राम नाम रूपी श्रेष्ठ तलवार: ये त्यागराज पर ही शोभा देंगे।
